Security While You Sleep

24/7 managed detection and response across endpoints and identities. Huntress MDR plus ITDR under a single agreement — we monitor, we investigate, we act, so your team does not have to.

The challenge

Your IT person cannot watch endpoints, identities and Microsoft 365 all at once.

The attack surface for a modern Pacific business is no longer just the laptop on the desk — it is also the Entra ID identity, the Microsoft 365 mailbox, the OAuth-connected SaaS app, and the conditional-access policy. Endpoint protection alone misses identity attacks; identity monitoring alone misses ransomware on the endpoint. Most Pacific organisations have one IT generalist trying to cover both, and an external provider who only responds when a ticket is raised. Neither model catches an attack in time.

  • What

    What is MDR plus ITDR?

MDR (managed detection and response) watches your endpoints — laptops, servers — for ransomware behaviour, malicious processes and lateral movement. ITDR (identity threat detection and response) watches your Microsoft 365 and Entra ID environment for account takeover, MFA fatigue, OAuth abuse and privilege escalation. Modern attacks cross both layers — you need both signals to see the whole picture.

  • Why it matters

Endpoint alone misses half the attack

Cloud-first attacks bypass the endpoint entirely — credential stuffing, OAuth consent phishing, Entra ID account takeover, MFA-fatigue prompts. Endpoint MDR cannot see any of it. Identity-only ITDR cannot see ransomware on a laptop. Pacific organisations running just one have a blind spot the attacker will eventually find.

  • How Ricoh fixes it

Huntress runs both, we run Huntress

Security While You Sleep deploys the Huntress agent on every Windows and Mac endpoint and integrates Huntress ITDR into your Microsoft 365 tenant. Huntress SOC analysts run detection and triage 24/7. ClearEdge handles deployment, local escalation, user conversations and ongoing tuning.

How we help

Our approach.

Security While You Sleep is ClearEdge's managed detection and response service, built on Huntress as a single platform spanning endpoint detection (MDR) and identity threat detection (ITDR). We monitor your Windows and Mac endpoints, your Microsoft 365 environment, and your Entra ID identities around the clock. When a threat surfaces — ransomware behaviour on a laptop, an impossible-travel sign-in, a malicious OAuth grant — Huntress and the ClearEdge team investigate and respond before damage compounds.

Capabilities

What's included.

  • Huntress MDR (endpoint)

    Huntress MDR (endpoint)

Managed detection and response on every Windows and Mac endpoint — behaviour-based ransomware detection, threat hunting by Huntress SOC analysts, fast isolation when a host is compromised.

  • Huntress ITDR (identity)

    Huntress ITDR (identity)

Entra ID and Microsoft 365 identity threat detection — impossible-travel sign-ins, MFA-fatigue attacks, malicious OAuth grants, inbox-rule tampering, suspicious privilege escalation.

  • Microsoft 365 protection

    Microsoft 365 protection

Inbox rule changes, mail-forwarding abuse, OAuth app misuse and risky sign-ins — detected across the tenant, not just on the endpoint.

  • Security awareness training

    Security awareness training

Huntress Managed Security Awareness Training (formerly Curricula) included — simulated phishing and short, story-driven training modules that staff actually finish. See dedicated Security Awareness Training page for detail.

  • Plain-English monthly reporting

    Plain-English monthly reporting

What was detected, what was done, what your trend looks like — written for a non-technical reader without losing the signal a security audit would expect.

  • Pacific-based escalation

    Pacific-based escalation

Critical incidents escalate to our Pacific team first. Huntress SOC runs detection and triage 24/7; we handle the local context, the user conversations and the follow-up.

One vendor
MDR + ITDR + training under a single Huntress agreement

Most MSPs stitch MDR, ITDR and security awareness training together from three different vendors. ClearEdge delivers all three under a single Huntress agreement — one pane of glass, one accountable platform, one bill. Simpler procurement, faster correlation across signals, less hand-off when an incident spans endpoint and identity.

Use cases

How customers use this.

  • 01

    No internal security team

Organisations with 10–200 users who need enterprise-grade endpoint and identity protection without hiring a security analyst.

  • 02

Existing IT team, no security depth

Co-managed model — your team handles day-to-day IT, we handle threat detection, response and identity monitoring.

  • 03

    Post-incident hardening

After a phishing incident, account takeover or ransomware near-miss, Security While You Sleep provides the ongoing endpoint plus identity monitoring that prevents recurrence.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

The questions South Pacific decision-makers ask most often before they engage on security while you sleep.

  • What is the difference between MDR, ITDR and EDR?

EDR (endpoint detection and response) is the underlying software on a laptop or server that records process activity and detects malicious behaviour — but somebody still has to watch the alerts. MDR (managed detection and response) is EDR plus a 24/7 specialist team that investigates and responds on your behalf. ITDR (identity threat detection and response) is the equivalent for cloud identity systems like Entra ID and Microsoft 365 — watching for account takeover, OAuth abuse, MFA-fatigue attacks and privilege escalation. Modern attacks move between endpoint and identity, so you need both MDR and ITDR to see the full attack path. Security While You Sleep delivers both under a single Huntress agreement.

  • What is Huntress and why did ClearEdge choose it?

Huntress is a cybersecurity platform purpose-built for managed service providers serving small and mid-sized businesses. It includes Managed EDR (endpoint MDR), Managed ITDR (identity), Microsoft 365 protection and Managed Security Awareness Training — all delivered with a 24/7 human Security Operations Centre rather than only an automated tool. We chose Huntress because it bundles the four security capabilities Pacific businesses need into one platform with one vendor relationship, one pane of glass, and analyst-led response — rather than stitching together three or four separate products from different vendors.

  • Do you really monitor over weekends, holidays and overnight?

Yes — the Huntress Security Operations Centre runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Most attacks deliberately target evenings, weekends and public holidays because attackers know that is when defenders are least likely to respond. A ransomware deployment at 3am on a Saturday is investigated and contained the same way it would be at 2pm on a Tuesday. ClearEdge handles the local escalation, user conversation and follow-up; the Huntress SOC handles the around-the-clock detection and response that no Pacific MSP could economically staff alone.

  • What happens when a threat is detected?

Huntress analysts triage the alert, validate that it is genuine (filtering out false positives) and take immediate containment action — for example, isolating a host showing ransomware behaviour from the network so it cannot spread, or revoking active sessions for an identity showing impossible-travel sign-ins. Critical incidents are then escalated to the ClearEdge team in the Pacific, who notify your designated contacts, walk through what happened, manage the user conversation if needed, and handle any follow-up such as a password reset, MFA reset or endpoint rebuild. A written incident summary is provided afterwards.

  • Will Security While You Sleep slow down our laptops?

The Huntress agent is intentionally lightweight — it observes process activity and reports telemetry to the Huntress cloud rather than running heavy local scanning. In normal use, the performance impact is not noticeable to users. Where users do report slowness, the cause is almost always something else (storage pressure, network conditions, an older laptop hitting end of life); the Huntress agent rarely contributes meaningfully to it. The agent is supported on Windows 10/11, Windows Server (2012 R2 and newer) and macOS.

  • Can we keep our existing antivirus alongside Huntress?

Yes — and that is often the recommended deployment. Huntress is designed to layer on top of Microsoft Defender for Business (or another standard antivirus) rather than replace it. Defender handles baseline malware blocking and signature matching; Huntress adds the behavioural detection, threat hunting and 24/7 response on top. You do not remove your existing protection to deploy Security While You Sleep — Huntress sits alongside it and provides the detection and human response your existing tool was never designed for.

  • What does Security While You Sleep cost?

Pricing is per endpoint per month, plus per user per month for the ITDR identity component. Most Pacific organisations of 20 to 200 users find the monthly cost less than a fraction of a single security-analyst salary — and Huntress provides the 24/7 SOC coverage that a single analyst cannot. ClearEdge sets up the service, deploys agents, integrates Microsoft 365 and manages the ongoing relationship under a single monthly invoice in your local currency.
