Business cards are the smallest job we print and the one where quality is most obvious. The card is handed over at the start of a meeting, and a thin, curling, badly trimmed card says something about the organisation before anyone has spoken.
Standard is 350 gsm matte, which is what most people picture. Stepping up to 400 or 450 gsm changes how the card feels in the hand noticeably more than the price difference suggests. Soft-touch laminate, spot UV over a matte finish, or a foil stamp are worth it where the card is genuinely part of the first impression — a partner-led firm, a hotel GM, an account manager working a competitive market.
Multi-name orders are handled as one job. A whole team’s cards, each with the right name and title, produced together and delivered together, on a single purchase order.
Where it fits
- New staff onboarding — Cards ready for a start date rather than three weeks after it.
- Whole-team reprints after a rebrand — Every name in one job, one PO, one delivery.
- Executive and partner cards — Heavier stock with foil or spot UV, where the card is doing real work.
- Conference and trade-show runs — A short additional run for an event, without reordering for the whole company.
- Hospitality and front-of-house — Cards that survive being carried in a pocket all season.
