Labels fail for physical reasons, not design ones. A paper label on a bottle that goes into a chiller lifts at the edges within a week. A permanent adhesive on a returnable crate has to be scraped off. A beautiful matte label on a product handled with oily hands looks poor by the time it reaches the shelf.
So the specification starts with where the label ends up. Synthetic (PP) stock for anything wet, chilled or oily. Clear for the no-label look on glass. Freezer-grade adhesive if it goes below zero, removable where the surface gets reused, permanent everywhere else.
Small batches are genuinely economic, which matters for a producer testing a product before committing. A first run of fifty does not carry a setup penalty that makes it pointless.
Where it fits
- Food and beverage producers — Bottles, jars and packaging that go through a chiller or a wet line.
- Honey, skincare and candle makers — Small-batch production where the label is most of the shelf presence.
- Chilled and frozen goods — Freezer-grade adhesive on synthetic stock, applied before the cabinet.
- Asset and equipment labelling — Durable labels on machinery, crates and returnable containers.
- Compliance and ingredient labelling — Regulated information printed accurately and reprinted when the formulation changes.
