XBoard V7 Series V5550

The MAXHUB XBoard V7 Series V5550 is a 55-inch all-in-one collaboration display engineered for hybrid meeting rooms. Unlike a standard interactive display, the XBoard ships with a built-in Windows PC module (12th-gen Intel via the MT71 series module slot), three AI-powered cameras with optical and hybrid zoom, a 16-microphone array with 15-metre pickup range and 2.1-channel speakers — packaged into a single device that mounts on the wall like a TV but functions as a complete video-conferencing room system.

In product terms, the V5550 is in a different category from the MAXHUB E Series interactive displays. The E Series is a 4K touch panel with a built-in Android OS — best when the customer needs an interactive board for whiteboarding, screen sharing and basic browser-based video calls, and is happy to bring or build the camera and microphone separately. The XBoard V7 is the all-in-one solution: same touch and whiteboarding, plus a meeting-room-grade camera and microphone array, plus a Windows host that runs Microsoft Teams or Zoom natively, plus a dedicated meeting launcher and BYOM (Bring Your Own Meeting) wireless workflow. The V5550 (55″) is the smallest size in the V7 line-up and is positioned by MAXHUB for huddle rooms and small meeting rooms of typically 2–4 participants; the V6550 (65″), V7550 (75″) and V8650 (86″) cover progressively larger room sizes.

For a Ricoh South Pacific customer who is currently running a hybrid meeting room with three or four separate pieces of hardware — TV, Windows PC, USB camera and a tabletop speakerphone — the V5550 typically replaces all of them with a single wall-mounted device. The presenter walks in, joins from their own laptop via wireless BYOM, and the meeting flows through the XBoard’s camera, microphone array and speakers without any cable swapping or device pairing. The on-board Windows PC also lets the room run as a permanent Teams Rooms / Zoom Rooms host if that is the customer’s preference.

Where it fits

• Hybrid huddle room (2–4 seats) — single device replaces a room kit — Customer has a small huddle room with a TV, a USB conference camera, a tabletop speakerphone and a dedicated Teams Rooms PC. The V5550 collapses all of that into one wall-mounted device. Reduces cable count, eliminates the dedicated PC inventory tag and the camera/speakerphone refresh cycle.
• Executive office or small client-meeting room — The privacy shutter, the 3-year warranty, the AI camera framing and the clean 55″ form factor suit an executive or client-facing room where the device has to look polished and the call quality has to be reliable on the first try.
• BYOM-first room — no Teams Rooms / Zoom Rooms licence — When the customer doesn’t want to license a dedicated room platform, BYOM lets every user run their own meeting (Teams, Zoom, Meet, Webex) on their own laptop while using the V5550’s camera, microphones and speakers. The room is platform-agnostic — no licence per room, no fixed dependency on Teams or Zoom.
• Teams Rooms or Zoom Rooms permanent host — Alternatively, the built-in Windows PC module can be configured as a permanent Teams Rooms or Zoom Rooms appliance — same room, same hardware, customer’s choice. Microsoft Intune support lets IT enrol the device in the existing endpoint management plane.
• Reception or front-of-house with secondary signage role — Ultrasonic presence detection wakes the panel when someone approaches and powers it down when the room is empty. The V5550 can run a signage or scheduling app between meetings, with brightness adapting automatically via the ambient light sensor.
