ColorWorks C6510P

The Epson ColorWorks C6510P (NZ product code C31CH77208, internal model CW-C6510P) is the peeler variant of Epson’s C6510 commercial colour inkjet label printer. Same chassis, same PrecisionCore TFP serial-inkjet engine, same CMYK DURABrite Pigment Ink platform and same 211.9 mm maximum print width as the C6510A auto-cutter sibling I have separately documented. The mechanical difference is the dispensing module: the C6510P includes a built-in peeler that automatically separates each freshly-printed label from its backing liner and presents it for an operator (or an attached applicator) to pick up and apply.

Where the C6510P fits commercially — the “P” (peeler) vs “A” (auto-cutter) decision. Pick the peeler variant when the customer’s downstream workflow is peel-and-apply one-label-at-a-time — pick-pack stations applying a label to each product as it goes into the despatch carton, laboratory benches applying specimen labels to tubes / cassettes / slides, healthcare wards applying patient-ID labels to wristbands or to records, retail price-marking stations where an operator labels stock onto the shelf. Pick the auto-cutter (C6510A) variant instead when the customer’s workflow takes a batch of labels in a stack — print 50 labels at once, cut them off and walk the stack over to where they’re applied.

Important spec-difference vs the C6510A — narrower media width support. The C6510P accepts media 50.8 – 112 mm wide (about 2 inches to 4.4 inches back paper width) per the Epson NZ specification, despite the print engine carrying the same 211.9 mm maximum print width. The peeler mechanism is mechanically constrained to that media width range; it cannot handle the wide 8-inch media the C6510A auto-cutter variant accepts. If the customer’s labels are wider than ~110 mm, the C6510P is the wrong variant — recommend the C6510A or step up to the C8010 / industrial models.
