The MAXHUB CMB Series ND50CMB is a 50-inch 4K UHD commercial-grade display engineered for 24/7 operation in business environments — digital signage, lobby screens, retail displays, meeting-room secondary displays, wayfinding panels and corporate communication walls. Unlike the MAXHUB E Series and XBoard V7 series (which are interactive whiteboard / collaboration displays with touch surfaces), the CMB is a non-touch commercial display tuned for always-on duty cycles, content delivery and dependable picture quality across long operating hours.

The ND50CMB is the panel-type outlier in the CMB family. Where the 43″, 55″, 65″, 75″, 86″ and 98″ models all ship with an ADS panel (typical contrast 1,200:1), the 50-inch SKU uses a VA panel with a typical contrast ratio of 5,000:1 — over four times the static contrast of the ADS siblings. For dark-theme content, dashboards, video and any signage application where deep blacks matter (corporate brand walls, ambient digital art, premium retail), the 50-inch panel is the better picture-quality choice in the family even before considering screen size.

Two characteristics make the CMB family stand out at this size in the NZ market. First, build quality and panel rating are at a true commercial standard: 24/7 operation, IP5X dust-rated chassis, ~100,000-hour panel lifetime, full-metal construction, and 500 nits typical brightness — about 40% brighter than a consumer or prosumer-tier 50-inch LCD. Second, the device runs Android 14 with the MAXHUB Signage OS V2 layered on top, includes Crestron Connected, Extron, Q-SYS and NDI certifications, supports USB-C BYOM up to 1080p, and exposes a dedicated Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) “meeting mode” that auto-syncs wake/sleep with the MTR console. So the same display can run as 24/7 digital signage through the week and step in as a secondary monitor or BYOM display in a meeting room when needed.

Where it fits

  • Premium lobby or corporate communication panel — Wall-mounted 50″ panel running rotating internal-comms content via MAXHUB Pivot or Appspace. The VA panel’s 5,000:1 contrast makes a noticeable difference for dark-theme branded content, video walls and ambient looped content vs the ADS panels on the rest of the CMB family — the right pick when the customer cares about lobby visual quality.
  • Retail front-of-house display with brand-critical visuals — Portrait-orientation menu boards, product hero screens, end-of-aisle promo panels where deep blacks and contrast matter. Anti-glare 25% haze controls reflections from in-store lighting and shop-front glass. Single-person install at 11.68 kg net.
  • Executive office or VIP-area information display — Brand-consistent 50″ panel in an executive office showing key dashboards, market data or video feeds. VA panel’s 5,000:1 contrast keeps dark-theme dashboards (Tableau, Power BI dark themes) sharp. USB-C BYOM lets the principal share content from their laptop on a single cable when meeting visitors at the office.
  • Secondary monitor in a hybrid meeting room — Primary collaboration display does the front-of-room work (e.g. an XBoard V7 or E Series IFP); the ND50CMB on the side wall shows a secondary view — agenda, dashboards, the second video feed in a Teams Rooms front-row layout, or a “see yourself” preview for presenters.
  • Wayfinding and meeting-room booking screens — Outside meeting rooms or in office reception areas — running room-booking apps (Teams Rooms scheduler, Robin, Condeco) or internal directory boards. MTR meeting-mode auto-sync is useful where the same screen is used both for the booking display and for showing the booked meeting’s joining info.
