CMB Series ND86CMB

The MAXHUB CMB Series ND86CMB is an 86-inch 4K UHD commercial-grade display engineered for 24/7 operation in large business environments — large-format digital signage, atrium and main-foyer screens, corporate communication walls, lecture theatres, large meeting-room and boardroom secondary displays, retail flagship screens and wayfinding. Unlike the MAXHUB E Series and XBoard V7 series (which are interactive whiteboard / collaboration displays with touch surfaces), the CMB is a non-touch commercial display tuned for always-on duty cycles, content delivery and dependable picture quality across long operating hours.

At 86 inches the ND86CMB sits in the “large-format” tier of the CMB family — the right size when the viewing distance exceeds about 7 metres or when the audience size pushes past 20 people. Active screen area (1930.8 × 1101.7 mm) is roughly 75% larger than the 65-inch ND65CMB and gives back-row legibility in lecture-theatre, town-hall and atrium-foyer contexts. The 86-inch is the upper-mid of the family — only the 98-inch ND98CMB is larger — and it is the upper limit of XBar Bracket support, so it is the largest CMB SKU that can directly host a MAXHUB XBar video bar on the back of the display.

Two characteristics make the CMB stand out at this size in the NZ market. First, build quality and panel rating are at a true commercial standard: 24/7 operation, IP5X dust-rated chassis, ~100,000-hour panel lifetime, full-metal construction, and 500 nits typical brightness — about 40% brighter than a consumer or prosumer-tier 86-inch LCD. Second, the device runs Android 14 with the MAXHUB Signage OS V2 layered on top, includes Crestron Connected, Extron, Q-SYS and NDI certifications, supports USB-C BYOM up to 1080p, and exposes a dedicated Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) “meeting mode” that auto-syncs wake/sleep with the MTR console.

• Atrium or main-foyer signage panel — Large-format wall-mounted 86″ panel running rotating internal-comms or brand content via MAXHUB Pivot or Appspace. 24/7 rated panel and IP5X-rated chassis handle continuous operation in an open-foyer environment; 500 nits brightness reads clearly in daylit atriums. • Lecture theatre or town-hall display — Run live company-wide announcements, all-hands streams or training content for audiences of 30+. Wired Gigabit Ethernet plus Wi-Fi 6 give the IT team flexibility, and Crestron / Extron / Q-SYS certifications mean it drops into the existing corporate AV control plane. Pair with a ceiling-mounted PA system — the integrated 2.0 speakers will feel light in a hall context.
• Executive boardroom secondary display — Large boardrooms where the front-of-room collaboration display (an XBoard V7 or E Series IFP) handles meetings, and the ND86CMB on a side or rear wall shows dashboards, video feeds or supplementary content. The XBar Bracket option also lets the customer turn the ND86CMB itself into a complete hybrid endpoint with an attached XBar.
• Retail flagship or experiential display — Large-format brand content, product hero screens or experiential signage in a flagship retail context. Anti-glare 25% haze controls reflections from store lighting and glass shop fronts.
• Wayfinding and directory display (large building lobbies) — Building lobbies, conference centres and large venue receptions — running building directories, room-booking apps or way-finding content. MTR meeting-mode auto-sync is useful where the same screen is used both for a directory display and for showing booked event joining info.
